New bridge at Worle?

As I flashed past Worle on a Voyager today, I noticed that one of the road overbridges (possibly the lane to West Huish, east of the motorway) is being replaced, with new concrete abutments, and currently no span. Portishead line to be cleared

Just spotted this on the wnxx forum:

Just heard on BBC Radio Bristol that the Portishead line is to be cleared in order that a trial 'passenger' evaluation to be run down by First Great Western in Autumn.

If true this is a superb development. Anyone out there able to verify this?

Might have to ...

They've fenced off the stepped waterside duck feeding area in Taunton's Vivary Park now "for health and safety reasons". Doesn't matter that no-one's fallen into the stream in all the years it's been there, as something could happen. You used to see kids in a sea of ducks, watching in awe as they ...

What trains actually call at Pilning nowadays? A few years ago there was one each way per day, but now I can't find anything.

I don't know about these days, but in BR days the right hand often didn't know what the left hand was doing.

There is the howler from 50 years ago when the gas lighting was stripped out of Coalpit Heath station and electric lighting was installed.

Three months before closure

Erm, it ...

Bristol panel goes pop

Earlier this afternoon there was a total loss of signalling in the Bristol area, apparently caused by blown fuses in Bristol panel box. There are still currently delays of over 100 minutes on some trains with others being cancelled throughout. Pretty much every train in the area is affected, with ...
