66 failed on Filton bank

Post by James »

markitg on SWRG reports:
6B86 Portbury to Aberthaw has sat down on Filton bank, north of Narroways junction. 66193 and 21 HTAs,2050 tonnes. 1441 BRI-GMV gone via Swindon. Avonmouth line ok but little route knowledge therefore rest on the up all ashambles.
What a mess, just one failure and it's reduced to single line working! If only there was space for four tracks...oh wait.
Odd goings on. An uid Hanson 59 arrived at BPW P4 as a 1Z99 hauling NR wagons(probably one of tonights engineers trains early),it came wrong road up Filton bank, then ran around ready to go back down to rescue failure but from a passing voyager I note a FL 66 on the front of the failed loco and train on the bank.
Interesting...could one 66 not be enough to move the train with its dead loco? EWS, Freightliner, and Hanson locos on the same train would make a good photograph!

Edit: Not happening, FL 66 sole assisting loco.

:D It was fine when it pulled out of portbury at 1300. Loco had been up north all week and came down from Toton last night on a empty 21 set.
Toton our so caled centre of excellance. Very fitting way for Energy to bow out as we are merged in to Industrial.
