Ashley Hill Platform

Post by drew22299 »

I use the line between Bristol Temple meads and Parkway often and have noticed a platform which probably runs about the length of the one at Lawrence hill just before the turn off to Redland. Is that Ashley Hill station? Is it even a platform?

After lawrence Hill, the station before the "turn off to Redland" (Narroways Hill Junction) is Stapleton Road. The site of Ashley Hill station is beyond there, where the line crosses Muller road. It closed in 1965 (I think)

I meant after the turn off when you are going towards Filton. Is Ashley hill on muller rd bridge? If so what is the platform I saw?

The order going up filton bank is as follows:

Lawrence Hill Station
http://www.bristol-rail.co.uk/lawrencehill.php
Stapleton Road Station
http://www.bristol-rail.co.uk/stapletonroadstation.php
Narroways Hill Junction
http://www.bristol-rail.co.uk/narroways.php
Ashley Hill Station
http://www.bristol-rail.co.uk/ashleyhillstation.php
Horfield Station
http://www.bristol-rail.co.uk/horfield.php

At Ashley Hill the Up Filton Relief platform remains (left side when climbing), at Horfield the Down Filton Main platform is still there (right hand side when climbing)
