The Dramway

Post by madhattie »

As some of you know I'm currently re-writing the Dramway section of this website as a book to be published by Tempus at the end of the year.

As my deadline looms, and my fingernails get ever shorter, I'll probably struggle to keep this website updated quite so much as it normally is.

So, if I go quiet for a while you'll have to excuse me

Oh, and if anyone has anything of interest concerning the old Avon & Gloucester Railway that may be useful for the book, please let me know!

An update: Spent the last two weeks working on new maps for the book after the people I got the website ones from wanted 48 quid per map to use them in the book!!! Talk about having a fried brain, it was bad enough doing them once, doing them again has been maddening.

Now have permission to use some old copyright photos of the various collieries on the line, as well as permission from the Bristol Evening Post to use some old articles fom the 80s on the discovery of Ram Hill pit and the reopening of various sections of the Dramway route.

Having fried my brain doing all that lot, I like to unwind by looking at, and posting too http://www.flickr.com/. The quality of most of the photos on there is outstanding. Perfect way to unwind.

This is taking up -all- my time at the mo. At least, while not doing the 9-5.!

I owe a ton of emails as usual!

Got -loads- of stuff to go online. My stuff, Gearald Peacock's stuff, Andrew Ross' stuff, Andy Kirham's stuff, Simon Whittingham's, David Burrell's stuff...... loads of other things like the sectional appendix from 1969 and another from 1973. Trackplans, route availability documents.

Keep coming back! Lots going to happen after June 30th. 8)
