A nice follow up to yesterdays event from Madhippy on UK Rail:

'With 57602 and 604 at Loughborough, 603 dead at Penzance and 605
dead at Old Oak Common at one point yesterday FGW managed to achieve 0% availability :-))) '

A 57 at Penzance was also used as an ETHEL before the 47 took the train to London. I think that's all they're fit for!

I liked this, from Ade on SWRG:

"The down beds tonight IS a class 57.

There was 1 green 57, ready to work a train. 1 green 57, ready to work a train.
Now if 1 green 57 should work the 1c99. They'll be No green 57s ready to work a train.

Moral of the story is what's going to work the down beds on Thur morning?"
