British Transport Police are appealing for help tracing tools and equipment worth ú20,000 stolen from the side of a railway track in Long Ashton. The equipment was stolen earlier this month at night while engineering company Ritchies was carrying out vital work on the railway.
Two men were seen going backwards and forwards along the trackside opposite Gatcombe Farm in Long Ashton at about 10.15pm on July 5.
A total of 20 tools and pieces of equipment were stolen.
Phil Howard of Ritchies said: "The tirfor equipment stolen is only used in our industry. It really wouldn't be of much use to anyone else.
The tirfor equipment supports our drill rigs above the railway."
Most of the items stolen have serial numbers stamped on them and are painted bright green.
