Fact or fiction?

As a child my father showed me a chimney stack from a steam loco in the small stream running alongside St Annes Pk railway station. Story was, it came loose after the loco cleared number two tunnel en route to BTM. Does anyone know of this or can clarify exactly, as I was only about 5 or 6 at the time.

Can't find any reference to this in my extensive library. Colin Maggs seems to be the acknowledged expert on railways around Bristol. I wonder if he might be able to shed some light.
