Long Marston (open weekend)

Post by nickt »

For those interested, Long Marston has its doors (ok gates) open this weekend. Proceeds to Railway Children charity.
Round trips of site in resident DMU operated by MOD Rail. Quite a lot to see, mainly wagons tanks track laying wagons etc. Not much in way of locos dvts. the trip is included in entrance price and is worth it especialy when it goes through car storage area.

And most worryingly, they advertised a "train crash".... I cannot understand why this was necessary?
What exactly did it involve?

Agreed, not something I expected to see advertised. I dont know if the recreation took place yesterday, certainly didnt see any wreckage.
