Is it an advertising mistake or a poor publicity shot or even false advertising.
On the front outerpage its adevertising The Weymouth seaside express shows a picture of The Dartmouth seaside express running along the coast around Teigmouth ! Both charters are run by differant tour operators.

Expect they have used library pictures and hope nobody looks too closely. A practice often used by papers. They probably didn't identify location.

It is the same with the RTCs own leaflet for the Dorset Coast Express and the Weymouth Seaside Express.
It is a shame that they couldn't have given a little more attention to the production of the adverts.

I went on the Weymouth run last Sunday and had an enjoyable trip. It was nice to see a lot of "general public" going for a day out rather than a train full of enthusiasts, if you know what I mean?!

I did see some photographers huffing and puffing because of the punters having a close look at the steam train!

That's not the Torbay Express ..... in fact it's not even Torbay. Take a closer look at the headboard. The photograph is of Nunney Castle hauling the Red Dragon just to the south of Ferryside, Carmarthen Bay. The line is part of the route of the Pembroke Coast Express mentioned on the third page of the supplement.

Hope this helps. <BJ>

The cutting I have (and I dont know which paper it is from ) shows double headed Cornish Riviera Express.
Can't decide which trip to do , either Weymouth or Dartmouth.

It's from a four page spread from the Railway Touring Co. Front page shows 5029 at Ferryside, 2nd page the C.R. Express and the 3rd page, the Pembroke Coast Express.

Very good advertisement. <BJ> .
