Retro Railtours 2 X Class 56

Retro Railtours are running a special from Huddersfield to Bath via Bristol today utilising 2 X class 56s. (56312 & 56311). Just went down Filton Bank.

Departs Bristol at 16.05 and going back up the hill. With a bit of luck (it's my youngest's fifth birthday party 2-4pm today!) I will be on the bridge at Lockleaze Rd/Constable Rd to see it go past if anyone wants to say 'hello!'

Nice photo, though that's the only angle from which 56312 looks remotely attractive

Between Bath and Saltford, 57311 'Parker' on the front......

.... and 56312/56311 on the rear.

What was the timing and route of the return I sat out at the side of the loop at charfield from 4.15 till 5.30 and didnt see it!

It went via Newport on both directions

Here it hurtling up Filton Bank on the return leg. Very impressive sight!

I caught the tail end of this at patchway station.Well my son did while I was in the back of the van trying to find a bottle opener!
