From the Sun newspaper today (2nd Sept)...''Train drivers have been ordered to cut their engines when they go downhill to save on fuel costs.Bosses said the move would save 2 million litres of diesel a year - enough for 1,000 cars.It will also cut carbon dioxide emissions.First Transpennine Express,which tested the idea between manchester and leeds,will reward the greenest drivers.It said ''It may be odd to think of trains freewheeling like a rollercoaster,but it is safe.''
