This is the original forum of the Bristol Railway Archive that existed between 2003 and 2013. I finally rescued it after it seemed unrecoverable after a large crash. I have made it available for viewing. It is locked, all posts to the new version please!
Use this forum to talk about the railways in and around Bristol, or for any off-topic stuff you want to share. Also request photos and information that you are missing.
How about this.
On the branch which all was around a beautiful white clean colour new snow on this day coming back from Radstock on a ROD I think no;3032 a lovely driver whose house backed out to his allotment in the Brislington area. Whilst we were at Clutton a coalman told us that we could pick coal mainly dust and so we had 3/ 4 bags on the fooplate "NOT A GOOD IDEAL " when we were near his allotment he said "kick em off"Col! which I did and when the bags hit the ground this Driver had the blackest spot in Bristol all over his allotment! Next day same offer refused thank you very much why?asked the coalman well the bags were rotten thats why.The coalman then said I thought you would burn them in the fire box.
It was weeks before the ground looked like an allotment again
