The GWR Directors' boardroom! That's a nine foot high solid granite fireplace! No need to tell you IT MADE MY DAY! Thank goodness I had a decent mobile on me to take the pictures. Hope you like them.

Very nice! Not bad quality for a phone. I like the last one with the caretaker(?) sitting there!

Thanks for posting, appreciated. :D

Eh? Oh the Aussie poster! Damned disgrace if you ask me, give 'em all a sound beating with the Daily Telegraph if you ask me.

Hey! Many of us 'colonials' still fly the flag and we still have The Queen on our money. Oh, I forgot to add.....great pictures! :)

Early on this year we joined a tour on a Sunday Morning run by the Commonwealth and Empire Museum. I think the tour was the "Brunel Tour" It was scheduled to last about 1 hour, but could have gone on for hours. The guide ( a lovely lady) was quite knowledgable, and we saw all round the GWR Direectors Offices etc. Well worth it just to see some of the maps and pictures on the corridor walls etc. Also included was a visit to the Old Station and then underground into the vaults below.

This was top stuff for my son's history project and quite a good morning out.

If they run the tours again, you have to book well in advance.
