Freight on the Beach

Post by jules »

Sunday 07:50

A Class 66 (unidentified) has just gone through Redland with a fair length train of ballast wagons in the direction of Temple Meads. Seen from afar.

Only posting it up as it's a rather rare event.

Had the misfotune to be up and about very early this Sunday again.

Another class 66 on Severn Beach line, waiting at Narroways for the main line.

Unidentified and unable to see if hauling a train. Are NR using SB line regularly on early Sunday mornings?

I reckon these 66s will be on engineering workings. There's still work going on along the SB line at the mo, and Narroways Junction itself it to be (has been?) replaced.

I live practically next to the railway bridge over the Gloucester Road (down the oad from Montpelier station) and heard a train at about one this morning (17/4/) it seemed to go past for a while and naturally it wouldnt have been a passenger train.............

I think there were diversions over the SB line last night due to an engineering blockade on Filton Bank. There was a report of a Voyager spotted traversing it this morning!

Beach Line extras

Seems it's getting busier since the recent lot of track renewals! Let's hope it doesn't affect the regular service .....

Will be interesting to hear what's going on ....
