Managed to get down to (a very busy and flipping freezing!) Pilning and getting a few shots of 7802 climbing out of Severn Tunnel....

Bastard signal failure at Filton messed up my plans. I went to a very windy Filton Abbey Wood and watched a 158 pass a red signal on the down line, and screech to a halt. From then on, everything had to stop, phone the signaller, and then proceed...slowly. This meant that Bradley Manor crawled into the station, stopped with half the train still on the platform, and departed late, along with the 47, a Voyager, and the next 158 for Bristol.
This meant I arrived just in time to see Bradley Manor depart Temple Meads. with just time for one rushed (crap) shot. The next two stoppers to Yatton (where I had planned to be) were over 20 minutes late and miles behind the charter.
Got back to Taunton with 5 minutes to spare on the published times, but 7802 had already left for the WSR. Arse.
p.s. There were some FGW staff travelling on the Voyager, and they said something like "We're not going to be going anywhere fast, there's a poxy little "Hall" (sic) with a million coaches on ahead of us.". Never mind the two FGW stoppers that were over 20 minutes late eh?

Didn't expect to have so much time at Filton, but I'd have happily given it all up for the Yatton shot I planned...bloody railways!
