Best to do the latter, even if it is equiped then it may well run out - there are no significant stops to get off at either - 5 mins at Severn Beach doesn't give time for a photo even, let alone a leg stretch.

Hi
Ticket sales going well, non stop phone calls,.
Just reading some comments on here and thought i would answer them in case anyone is worried or put off .
It is a long time on the train but we will have time for a few stops . bristol parkway 12.33- 1241- gloucester 16.26-1640.
If it was a few hours around Bristol it would not have been worth all the efforts a lot of people have put in to making this a event.
Plus we wanted to cover as much as possible and so the whole day was needed.
the timings as on any railtour are guidelines as we all know so hopefully we will be back a bit earlier then stated.
The toliets will be cleaned when needed , if there is a problem please let a member of the train staff know .
I will trust that travellers will look after them as well.
The buffet has been told the tickets sales numbers and is stocking to that amount , will do a final number count on saturday pm
so hopefully we should not run out too fast of the basics.
However if this does happen and to ensure no one is left on the train with no grub i suggest you bring a some snacks ie sandwich etc.
I am very pleased with the numbers turning out and just pray all goes to plan on the day.
The team are delighted and we all hope you have a very great day
There is also a raffle of some fantastic prizes that have been donated that are worth a couple of strips of tickets.
See you Sunday
Thanks
Andy Spencer

Sorry I wasn't trying to put anyone off - and I'm sorry not to be doing parts of the trip but can't make it. I had however imagined it would have been a bit like the steam around Bristol in 2005 with short trips and long breaks.
Hope all that are going enjoy it.
that is ok

No It was not like that at all I have had quite a few emails and wanted to address some of the worries people had about it .
Plus, not all going are or have been on a railtour before so i wanted to reassure them.
Sorry you are not coming. It should be a good day.
Amazed at the phone calls from locals of Bristol booking.
We have raised a huge amount of money for a great cause.
Thanks

Just seen this on SW GEN
********************************
Severn Beach Branch
Line problem in the Shirehampton area.
Train services between Shirehampton and Severn Beach are being
disrupted due to vandalism in the Shirehampton area. Short notice
alterations, cancellations and delays can be expected.
The line is expected to remain closed until Monday morning. Replacement
road transport is in operation.
**********************************
All trains terminating and starting from Shirehampton today on the
Severn Beach line due to yet another signal cable theft (3rd in 3
weeks) between Shirehampton and Dock Junction at Avonmouth. Buses to
fill in the missing gaps between Shire and the Beach. Could have
implications on tomorrows Coal-Stone haul trips as some are booked that
way.
Will this effect the trip?

SPT on SWRG reports:
"Tour depart Yate at 14:22 to Westerleigh with the 50 shut down with a problem and now the goyles are pushing. Tytherington will be interesting!"
50s are a bit crap aren't they? As if the tour needed another problem!

the hoover ran out of coolant and had to be refilled, the network rail support guy knocked on the door of the old keepers lodge at latteridge crossing and asked if he could use their water supply to fill her up , they obliged and got it started again.the goyle driver got out at algars crossing(iron acton) and asked us to stand well back as he wasnt sure it would make the crossing, they had an eventful day me thinks.

What a day out!
I had a fab time and it really made the Old Man's Birthday to go on this tour - his first since the last steam loco out of New Street in the 60's.
Big up respect to all the organisers, just hope I don't jibber on about it all through my job interview with NR tomorrow morning.....
