BTM to Bristol Docks route

Post by mozzer »

hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direct of any images of the old route from BTM to the docks, via the tunnel under St Mary Redcliffe church ?

I'm just interested as i've never seen any pictures from the route ?

Ta !

I'd also love to see pics of it in operation, especially diesels, if anyone has any :)

Here's one:

Plus some fascinating stuff in this link about the early history of Temple Meads and Victoria Street in relation to the George & Railway hotel, especially the maps at the end showing wagon turntables in the streets - with one line branching directly into The Saracen's Head :D

That floating harbour site is really interesting. Makes you realize how much of Bristol has been lost for one reason or another! :(
