A proper railway system should be a priority

Just a thought that the private railways are not the best any thoughts?

The whole privatisation con has been and will continue to be a fiasco. The railway system will never be finacially self sufficient without millions of pounds from the tax payer.

Asking a Train Operating Company to pay the government a premium on their franchise is nothing but a stealth tax against rail passengers.

It's bad enough having to pay the voracious shareholders, let alone the government too.

As the ECML has shown twice now, this model is ultimately unsustainable.

Of course, this depends entirely on whereabouts in the UK you live.
