Help

Post by frame69 »

Would anyone here be able to help me find out about family members who worked for gwr in the past? I have diaries etc...from this period and letters from when my grandad was posted at several different depots. Is there an area where previous employees discuss this.
Cheers,Frame in Padstow.

According to the website of the STEAM museum at Swindon, all the old GWR staff records at kept at the national archive at Kew - see link below (last pargraph on the page).

You didn't mention your grandad's or dad's names?

Post them up please- some of the older people on here who worked at TM might remember them ...

Grandad was James Prescott Cox from Horfield area.
Dad is Clive Richard Cox.He started april 58 till 1966.
Grandad started as porter in the 30s and went on to become an office worker and retired in the early 70s?
Harold Cox also worked there.(grandads brother)
