I can't go look at the moment as I'm away, but my Aunt who lives in Hallen told me she was pleased the bridge was finished a month early, but displeased that it is so ugly. She was certainly right there by the look of the pics ...

But it was I think a very difficult site to replace a bridge - on an angle, on a hill and on a bend. Looks like they have tried to squeeze a standardised straight structure into a bent location!

Though I've not seen quite such an ugly structure like this anywhere before - let's indeed hope they are not going to become common. Maybe it's just ugly because of the difficult location and we can expect better at easier to access sites ...

Seems like its becoming a standard design as this looks very similar to the 6week, that turned into 64week project that was Patchway Bridge upgrade.
