This is the original forum of the Bristol Railway Archive that existed between 2003 and 2013. I finally rescued it after it seemed unrecoverable after a large crash. I have made it available for viewing. It is locked, all posts to the new version please!
Use this forum to talk about the railways in and around Bristol, or for any off-topic stuff you want to share. Also request photos and information that you are missing.
Was surprised to see a pair of Class 67's and blue grey carriages at Barton Hill sidings on Friday evening. Are they being used on any scheduled services in the area?

5 x Class 142s have returned to Northern and there's a former Cross Country working that needs covering in Devon. These loco-hauled workings and less units away for refurbishment help strike a balance.
I remember reading on the BBC site (can't find it now though!) that there were going to be more services added in the Bristol area as part of the new timetable. Presumably this is part of that?

I read, not on the BBC website, that those services had already been introduced and the BBC were referring to the existing Bristol Parkway to Weston-super-Mare service. Apart from a few tweaks here and there I don't think there are any new services to speak of in the new timetable.

Haven't noticed any additional services myself, only a few tweaks here and there.
No they dont do a saturday service at the moment although depending on things one may be introduced at a later date. They spen saturdays tucked upinside a shed on Barton Hill
No idea of any dates at the moment ,But was speaking to one of the drivers ldc reps in work last night and he said that there is another service planned and possibly using 37's
Although he talk the leg off a weston donkey his sources usually arent to far from the truth.
