Bristol East Signal Box

Post by stumpytrain »

Hi guys,

If anyone's interested I've just added a couple of interior photographs of Bristol East Signal Box to my website. They can be seen here:

Cheers,

Wonderful!

I remember the shunting signal mentioned, on the gantry. I never saw this other than "off".

Thanks for the interest Andrew. I'm assuming you're thinking about the mechanical signal? Just in case you are and you're interested, that signal was worked by Bristol Temple Meads Goods Yard Signal Box. 233 worked by Bristol (Temple Meads) East Signal Box was a colour light signal on the next gantry along and protected the crossovers that gave access to the running lines from the yard.

I've just uploaded another photograph, this time of the box exterior. Apologies for the rambling caption!

Thanks - You are right; memory let me down here! Is it really getting on for 40 years ago?!
