Sodbury Box wrote:O.K. so I have some footage from Cattybrook Bridge - excellent venue - my thanks to James and Pete. Cold and bright but rewarding. Some stills too !
So being a newbie - how do I upload them ?
Answers on a post card please - just kidding :D
Pete will be more help with this side of things...I only know how to upload from my digital stills camera!

5051 is now stuck at Parkway with boiler pressure problems...GWR locos are notoriously fussy when it comes to coal!

I didn't realise there were problems, although she was certainly running late.
If you get a moment I'll be glad of the stills upload technique.

Basically you need to upload images to your own webspace (or a fotopic website etc) and the use the button to link to it. For videos I'd ... utube.com/

I too was also at Cattybrook!! I think there must of been 15 or so people there. 5051 didn't seem to be going that bad, I was surprised to read that it had stopped at Bristol Parkway. Had I of known I would probably of had time to see it leave Bristol Parkway.
The weather made photographing a bit difficult, it was alternating between sunshine and cloud, when 5051 passed it was cloud!!

and a bit of freight passed whilst we were waiting

How's the video uploading going Sodbury? Do you have the video on your computer or on tape?

Hi James.
Video transfer to computer O.K. via Moviemaker.Unfortunately UTube limits to 100mb and Movie maker only mearures by duration.Trying to figure out how to edit content to 100mb.
Any one out there with ideas..........there must be an easier way !

If you convert the video to .wmv then its size should come down to something more practical. Altervatively, Google Video lets you upload larger files than YouTube.

How big is the video as it stands?

Movie Maker comes in different versions for different flavours of windows, but basically you need to save the file for the web. Once you find that section of the software menu, save it for DSL Cable which will leave you with a file with a .wmv extension.

There's no point in saving the movie with particularly high quality settings because both Google and YouTube add compression anyway.

If you want more specific help, let me know which versions of windows and Movie Maker you've got.

Thanks for posting the video. Good spot apart from the double parking...wonder how many people will go there to see Bradley Manor on March 10th?

Not sure how far this section of line gets direct westerly sunshine in the afternoon on Thursday at 15.32 as Lord Nelson heads to Filton for 15.50.

Had wondered about taking photos at Pilning yesterday. Has anyone else taken photos of 5051 yesterday.

Wished I had arrived earlier to see that short freight train, was the load scrap metal? Still haven't mastered the knack of posting the thumbnails...
