Hi everyone
I was in Bristol a few days ago partly for work and partly for reseach. Im doing my own website about railway stations in Gloucestershire and surrounding areas Bristol included (but my knowledge of Bristol is limited to Temple Meads and getting to College Green). I was wondering if anyone could help me out. While I was walking away from the station I noticed some rails running from under the childrens play area infront of the British Empire and Commonwealth Museum it seems to run towards the station.
What was it used for?
Bristol Temple Meads
That's the only surviving piece of Bristol's tramlines. I'm not sure what happened once they got underneath the arches under Temple Meads, was there a depot or something?
At the exact point where the tramlines meet the road there was originally a stone arch with towers to match the opposite side of Brunel's old station frontage, anyone know what happened to it? Was it destroyed in WWII?

Sorry to bring this old subject back up but I was in the Central Library yesterday looking in a few railway books. I stupidly forgot to take the name of a book I looked in that had an interesting black and white overhead picture of Temple Meads which included the goods yard and the line that led to Redcliffe Viaduct. The picture had arrows pointing out what everything was.
Does anyone know what book this was or does anyone have a similar picture?
I would pop back to the library but not living in Bristol its difficult.
