Evening All,
On the bus back to P'head last night, gazing out into empty space, while passing through the Cumberland Basin system, I chanced a view of the trackbed running up to the old swing bridge. It looked to me as though the double track that ran through the cut, just on the edge of Greville-Smyth park has been lifted, although there was plenty of debris scattered around.
Can anyone shed any light on this - I can't imagine it's going to be re-layed - Is this the end for the Ashton Gate Meadows line?

Re: Track Lifting - Ashton Gate Meadows
The Ashton meadows line was severed when the Portishead branch was rebuilt for the Portbury traffic. There's great big mounds of earth at the spot where the junction used to be to keep 'travellers' from moving onto the land. (doesn't stop the Beeb from filming Casualty down there though!)Portishead Prowler wrote: Can anyone shed any light on this - I can't imagine it's going to be re-layed - Is this the end for the Ashton Gate Meadows line?
