4464 and 60163 are at Southall, so not a loco shortage. Lack of bookings a strong possibility due to the uncertainty regarding the ASLEF / DBS dispute I would imagine. <BJ>

Are you sure that the dispute has been settled or has the following railtour been cancelled due to lack of bookings resulting from the dispute?
This message appeared today on National-Preservation regarding a Pathfinder tour on 13th October. <BJ>
''Received a letter from Pathfinders today to say that the Shakespeare limited has been cancelled due to the A.S.L.E.F industrial action as a goodwill gesture they offer a 10% discount on a future tour.''

From 'uksteam'. THE SHAKESPEARE LIMITED [CANCELLED] (02/10)

From the Railway Herald website. <BJ>

'ASLEF has advised that it has reached an agreement with DB Schenker and that rest-day working has been reinstated with effect from 00.01 on 29th September.
The announcement comes after a period that has seen a rest-day working ban in place, resulting in the freight operator being unable to fulfil its commitments to customers. ASLEF lead negotiator Simon Weller told Railway Herald that a package had been agreed that will see the rest day working ban lifted, and a robust training plan put into place to consolidate route knowledge, which will provide the flexibity to allow DB Schenker Rail (UK) to deliver its commitments without hinderance. The full details of the agreement will be put before the ASLEF committee at the next meeting in October''.

Although ASLEF and DB have reached an agreement on the Free day working. It is my understanding that there have been conditions attached to it and that DB will not just be booking Drivers out to cover cor work as this was what the dispute was over relying on Drivers to fill in for the lack off trained Drivers also the abuse of diagrams and moving of turns just to cover core work. For some time now DB have let the Drivers numbers fall to a point where they rely heavily on Free day working to cover.
