Completely unrelated to railways, but I was lucky today to get a couple of photo's of the transit of Venus.

I think that's certainly about the furthest from Bristol a thread on here has ever got!

Still, I suppose "transit" make it slightly transport related :D

we had a go any where link for some drivers as long as they had a put back driver as his second man! :(

Hmmm - put back drivers and mileage turns .....

I recall once getting a ticket in from one particular put back driver who had been rostered Portsmouth one way, RAO.

It turned out that, whilst down there, they were short of a secondman for a Brighton turn, so he volunteered for that. Got about 13 hours in that day, as I recall :mrgreen:

it was my turn for short rest to weymouth guess what the driver only had road knowledge to westbury although he put his name for weymouth so guess who finished up doing the driving MUG :lol:
