6024 King Ed I March 1st London Cardiff via Bath

Post by mow »

Another of 6024's final runs on March 1st.

http://www.uksteam.info/tours/t12/t0301a.htm

The train is running via Chippenham and Bath then towards Filton and the Severn Tunnel, not via Badminton and Parkway.

The return from Cardiff is via Chepstow, Gloucester and Kemble.

I noticed that the engine is being watered at Bristol East Yard, and it will approach Filton Bank from a restart, I suppose that it shouldn't lead to any complications on the way up.

If you travel by train from Bristol TM heading towards Bath, Bristol E. Yard is to the right after passing over Feeder road. <BJ>

Why do they insist on renaming yards and junctions. Bristol east yard is better known as east depot. Alot of the renaming is done by planners who have no idea of the railway,

Apologies for causing confusion, dismay and offence.

This is what UKSteam had

Bristol East DGL a 12:43 water d 12:59.

I should have simply cut and pasted it.
