...of Bathampton and Limpley Stoke in 1966 have recently appeared here.
I think 1966 is the correct year as they seem to have been taken after the end of steam, and the line through Devizes closed in 1966 (although I guess nobody noticed because the Somerset and Dorset was closing at about the same time)Gary wrote:Or possibly (probably) earlier than 1966, now I realise the photo codes don't necessarily relate to dates!
Thanks for drawing our attention to these. There are some very under-photographed locations here - I've never seen a photo of Holt Junction for instance - one of those classic junction-in-the-middle-of-nowhere stations.
It's worth searching through the entire collection as it's full of out-of-the way lines that just survived into the late sixties and early seventies - the line to Cheddar in its freight-only days, and places in South Wales such as Tredegar and Cymmer Afan.

Indeed. Some fabulous pics of Clifton / Redland / Montpelier (including Hymek!) and my favourites - the ones of Narroways Junction with detail of the gasholders and the interesting semaphore signalling. There are even some Bristol shots on page 97
Memories of childhood for me there - Narroways was my top haunt!
