Yes. Puxton & Worle signalbox as was, is now known as 'Puxton Crossing' and controls Puxton and Hewish crossings, the latter by CCTV.

1970 Resignalling Photos required

PHOTOS REQUIRED
Can anyone lend me photos of any signalboxes between Uphill Junction and Bridgwater (inclusive)? Also has anyone a photo of the ORIGINAL Keynsham East box?
These are for possible inclusion in my forthcoming book about the 1970 re-signalling of Bristol.

You are right. these sidings were known as Blaise Sidings and were controlled from a GWR signalbox which opened 13 june 1940 and closed 22 May 1966. Yes; As I said before, there is no viaduct at Mangotsfield. Moving west from the station, there was a 'tunnel' under the tracks where a footpath went under the lines. Further towards Staple Hill was Manor Road underbridge. Towards North Junction there was no viaduct, nor was there anything towards ...

Ther is no viaduct at Mangotsfield and never has been. there's a bridge which carries the railway over Manor rd, west of the station, but no viaduct.

Further to my last posting, Mangotsfield North Junction had three carriage sidings on the Up side, a siding or two on the Down side and the spur into Carson's which trailed off the Up Branch.

Martin, you are right in saying that South Junction was electric points and signals but there was a signalbox there until 1923 after which Mangotsfield Station took over the control of the junction. The signals were upper-quadrant semaphores. The Royal Mail ECS from Bristol used to run to North ...
