Went hunting 37405 last night and took a selection of photos while I waited for it to turn up. I'll stick the one of the beast itself (and 66601 on the cement) online tonight, it's too dark to work on the pic on this particular 'puter.

Cool....very atmospheric!

Really admire that of the old Royal Mail building - you certainly have an eye for a good shot.

That was some brill work there, gota be the best photos I have seen for a long time
Nice shot of the mail building I remember when it all went over there by trolley before the conveyor

They remind me of walking around there when I was a fireman on nights
waiting to change crews

Super photographs, so full of amotsphere, somehow some of them slightley scarey. Reminds me of dark lonely nights on the station.
Can see how Arnold Ridely got the thoughts for the ghost trian when sat at mangotsfield in the night.

Would love to see more like this, of course when time permits.

I'm planning on getting some more. Usually I wait until the weather is bad so I can get reflections and mist etc. When I left Lockleaze for TMs that day it was chucking it down and thunder and lightning. When I got to TMs I could see it in the distance, and that's where it stayed! Typical!

If anyone ever fancies joining me for some night photography just let me know....

There's a couple of prostitutes and their pimps been hanging around FAW every time I've visited of late. Makes it a little camera unfriendly!

Having said that, there are some good night time shots to be had at the place. Maybe once the nights have drawn in we could meet up there after they've chucked you out of work and get some shots? My excursions to TMs are always spur of the moment jobs, but I'll text you next time I'm going and see if you're free.

Nice photos. It's surprising how much better the old Royal Mail building looking at night - hideous by day, but at night with the right lighting (almost) beautiful.

Lovely shots of BTM. How late can one stay on the platforms? Is the station not closed up at night? I think the overnight Penzance to Paddington and vv are no longer booked to pick up or set down there, and with mail, parcels and newspapers all gone few stations are 'round the clock' these days. And with security concerns, one would probably get hassled off the premises these days.

I remember as a student back in 1971, travelling home from Leeds to Plymouth; I'd usually hitch. It was Christmas time and I'd not made the usual rapid progress - only got as far as Bristol by midnight so resigned myself to buying a ticket to get home on the overnight train. It was a real treat; loads of Warships on postal trains and nobody minded me wandering around - even the buffet was open for a welcome cuppa every now and again. Loads of atmosphere. I took loads of black and white photos but lost somewhere among the archives.
