:( Surfing I have seen the photos of the signal box on the last day of operation and it mentioned the 129 levers +5 blanks well! I polished every one of them every 3rd week on the night turn. Then of course one had to black and polish the frame on the morning turn I went into the box not being old enough to be a cleaner. :D although nine months later I was appointed a cleaner at Yatton to clean loco"s no1415,1463.5809,and what came round on the 5-20 ex Bristol via Frome normally a 45xx or 55xx to work the Wells service the next day.

After Yatton closed in Aug 60, am I right in saying that the Wrington engine worked down LE from Bristol. Also how long did Yatton remain a signing on point for the Drivers working the DUM on the Yatton-Clevedon.

the loco was a class41xxx Ivatt the only class allowed up the branch at that time if you have a copy of the Clevedon branch book there are some photos of driver Miller and fireman Charlie Hood on the turn.and the two drivers on the unit turns ie, Sid Sledge & George Stockham as far as i know used to ring the time office at Bath rd, Fred Flower worked the Wrington turn for about 6 months then he retired.
