I've had a few emails about this.
There are quite a few newsfeed readers available to download for free from the interweb. I can't make any recommendations because I don't use them.
I use http://www.bloglines.com/. This means I can read all my newsfeeds from anywhere in the world without having to install anything on any hard drives. Much more convenient.
Although you have to cough up a valid email address to subscribe to Bloglines, I can honestly say that in all the time I've used them I've never been spammed as a result of them having it.
I find newsfeed reading a very easy way to keep up with whatever is going on with the world. I can read headlines from a vast number of newspapers and websites worldwide, all without having to visit any of their homepages. Brilliant!
