SANTA STEAMS IN FOR SEASONAL RAILWAY WEEKEND

Father Christmas steamed into Bitton at the weekend for the first in a series of special events. The Avon Valley Railway (AVR) hosted the first of its Santa train rides yesterday with children queuing for a chance to meet the man in red.
Stuart Hobday, AVR chairman, said: "It has been a very successful day with lots of children going home with happy, smiling faces and presents from Santa."
The railway is hosting the Father Christmas train rides every Saturday and Sunday between now and Christmas, with journeys also taking place next Monday and on Friday, December 23.
