NEW DIRECTOR FOR OPERATOR

Regional train operation Wessex Trains has appointed a new commercial director. Bob Houghton has more than 25 years' experience in the rail industry, and was previously the head of marketing and public relations for the company.
He replaces Jeremy Whitaker, who has taken up a senior position in higher education in the south west.
Mr Houghton said: "Wessex Trains is a strong brand in the south west.
"I am looking forward to further developing the marketing communications programme and relationships with stakeholders."
Wessex Trains' managing director, Alan Wilson, added: "Bob has held a number of management positions within Wessex Trains. This has given him a fantastic understanding of the business and I know he will continue to deliver success in his new role."
