TRAIN'S TRIP TO THE PAST
History enthusiasts travelled back in time when they took a medieval-themed train from Bristol Temple Meads to Gloucester for a weekend in the Middle Ages. Passengers on the 8.42am Wessex Train service to Cam and Dursley station on Saturday were welcomed on board by a jester and met at their destination by knights in armour and medieval dignitaries.
They were then taken by bus to Berkeley Castle where the two-day jousting event took place.
The weekend celebrated the middle ages with re-enactments of mock battles, falconry displays and hog roasts.
