B&ER Staff Records...

Post by Gareth »

Some time ago my neigbough found an old B&ER button in his back garden....

....in the process of tracing the history of my own house and the cottage that proceeded it i've found out that a man called George Lee once lived there; he is recorded as a 'Plate Packer' working for GWR at Yatton around the turn of the century.

I have a sneaking suspicion that George lee or maybe even his father John Lee might have been the owner of the button and discarded it when they moved over to GWR after they took over B&ER in the late 1800's.

I would love to prove this!......does anyone know if any of the B&ER staff records survive? or failing that anyway of finding a staff listing for the company...
