I just wondered if anybody remembers this BBC TV series of the late fifties and early sixties? I have just entered the details onto IMDb.com, since they don't yet have it listed, but must confess I cannot recall watching it. I have a Radio Times from 1960 which shows it as broadcast on Wednesdays at 5.10, just for 15 minutes, looks like monthly.

This edition was "with John Adams & Patrick Whitehouse, introduced by Bill Hartley."

Spotters Notebook and film of Crewe's locomotives
A visit to Cromford and the High Peak
Can you guess?

Later that year there was an episode called "From Bath To Evercreech Junction". I wonder if any of the episodes have survived?

I have the whole series which was released as 5 VHS videos by Ian Allan. There was also a book of the series published in 1997 (ISBN 0-7110-2456-1)

The whole package frequently featured as a special offer from the Railway Book Club. There must be thousands of copies lying around. I don't know if it was ever upgraded to DVD. Luckily, I still have a working VCR plus a brand new one stored away for when it eventually fails.

I remember the series well and always made sure I was home from school in time.

They are all available as DVD's from Amazon and I note that some of the material is even on You Tube.

Thanks very much, I've duly ordered! I did not even consider the series could have received a reissue on video or DVD, so had not checked on-line at all.

Really looking forward to this, and maybe even remembering seeing it first time around!
