Is that both Tue and Thurs - how can that be? There was nothing today. Is it worth trying on Thurs? Fantastic website to help get to know ristol area!

Yeah, I did think it was odd that the movement of specific locos was given as taking place on both days, but I figured I would post the times anyway because the thought of seeing Class 87s trundling through Bristol is very exciting
I'm not working on thursday so hopefully will be able to get some pics if the movement does take place.
Yesterday I spent ten minutes on the footbridge at Lockleaze (while munching my dinner, and before I returned to work..) and saw no less than 4 HSTs! I can't even remember the last time I saw an HST using that route! Quite amazing

Apparently this has now been cancelled due to the fact that Network Rail aren't sure if a class 87 will fit through Bath Spa.
(I thought these things were supposed to be built to a certain loading gauge
)

Many moons ago, loading gauge varied from railway company to railway company, which eventually became region to region.
BR introduced many standards, but presumably some variations still exist today.

That's all very interesting. Still getting know the area - Flax Bourton station this afternoon or at least the remnants. Looking forward to trains running again towards the Severn - will it be like freeing a dammed river with a torrent of trains passing as the pressure is released - perhaps not!

One side of the Patchway tunnels are now open I believe!
