Bristol Metro Train Network

According to a front page story in last Friday's Post, there will be several new or re-opened stations during the next years.

Ashton Gate, Portishead, Filton North, Horfield, Ashley Down, Henbury, Saltford & Corsham.

I hope it's not exaggerated in any way!

unless the councils involed get their acts to-gether nothing will happen we have been down this very long lane many times ,lbristols politics are still in the dark ages which started after the 2nd world war just look at the lack of forsight and planing.just look of the rebuilding of the broadmead area uck! :cry:

If this story was as true as the Evening Post would have us believe, I would have expected other media to pick it up, notably BBC Bristol.

Nothing on Points West so far ;)

It was on the local evening news same day, It caught my attention they showed part of the overgrown track at Portishead and a 150 ( or whtever it was ) running through Saltford. there was a piece on camera with danny alexander then view of arena location

I heard it is all supposed to happen at the same time as they open the new terminal at Bristol airport just for pigs!!

Without a Bristol Metro being written into the upcoming franchise, it's all pie in the sky. The city council seems to think that Bristol's traffic problems are going to be solved by the multi - million pound bus lanes, or whatever they're calling them. I think not.

Is the Council's plan to announce many plans and see which ones get the least people annoyed? I refer to the genius idea of ripping up the Bristol Bike Path for an " express " bus lane. That went sooo " public and messy. " Bristolians openly giggled and pointed.
