I was reading your article on Long Ashton station, as I was researching for the en.wikipedia article. Your page says there was a station there from 1841-1856, and I was wondering where this information came from - I haven't found any other references to such a station, only to the 1926-1941 one.
The info comes from the Colin Maggs book Bristol Railway Panorama. He says the B&E opened a station called 'Ashton' at the same spot at which Long Ashton was built. Opened with the opening of the B&E in 1841, closed in 1856.
My problem is that I don't have that book, and as best I can tell there are no other references to such an early station at Long Ashton anywhere else. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashton_railway_station curiously lists Ashton as being another name for Bedminster (something else I can't find any other mention of).
