12th February Cathex with King Edward I

Sunday 12th Feb has the Cathedrals Express with 6024 King Edward I on one of its last runs before its overhaul.

Excellent photos! I took some video of it leaving Bath for BTM and then again at Keynsham on it return. It was 45 minutes late at Bath coming, because of signalling problems at Reading, but I wasn't prepared for it to be an hour and ten minutes late at Keynsham this evening - it was freezing!
While I was waiting at Bath with a friend, a fellow enthusiast told us he had come up from Southampton especially but that the engine had run out of water somewhere further up the line and the train was now being hauled by a diesel instead. He said he was returning to his car at Green Park and five minutes later the King arrived, with no sign of a diesel front or back or of any water problem.
We never saw the stranger again, altogether a very curious incident.
