Tangmere ran light engine and support coach from Carnforth to Southall yesterday. Let's hope all goes to plan for today's tour from Three Bridges to Bath and Bristol. <BJ>

Brilliant pics. Where were you standing to get those shots - by the side of the dual carriageway? And what's happened to Tangmere's nameplate?

Just the other side of the hedge by the side of the dual carriageway, a popular spot!!
I'm not sure why the nameplates are missing.

for those that weren't there, they were taking off from the field adjacent to the line, then drifting over the line. There was one quite nicely positioned as Tangmere came into view, but I had decided to go for a pan shot rather then a conventional type shot. In hindsight it might of been best if I went for the conventional type shot instead.
A few of them 10 mins or so before Tangmere came into view.

I thought it quite appropriate that Tangmere should pass through Bath this month. In BR steam days, Tangmere had worked over the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway between Bath and Bournemouth. The line closed to passenger traffic 45 years ago in March, 1966. <BJ>
