As things have been a bit quiet around here lately, here are some archive clips on Youtuble that might while away a wet autumn Sunday :mrgreen:

Put there by a guy called Mike Vale in a series entitled "The days of 1958" - unfortunately some of the editing leaves something to be desired ;)

For some reason I can't view these, but from the descriptions I'm sure these clips are from the BBC Railway Roundabout series.

There are lots of lovely old clips - railway and otherwise - at http://www.britishpathe.com/ Search for "Bristol Docks" and you'll find a lengthy documentary called (inevitably) Bristol Fashion. There are some amazing shots of the City docks full of shipping in about 1964. It's interesting to think how late the city docks remained busy; I read somewhere that their busiest postwar year was 1965 or thereabouts, so the decline was extremely rapid.

I think the majority if not all are from Railway Roundabout

I have just picked them all up from the links I posted - being Saturday perhaps Youtube was overloaded?
