That is a fantastic story and some amazing work to track the locomotive down. I'm sure there will be a lot of people happy to see it at the AVR!

I am too far away to visit at the moment! but I'll have it on my list, for the future.

Presumably this is the Sentinel that had been recorded by the Industrial Railway Society as with "Mr Wilkes, near Colchester".
Works number 7492 of 1928

Well all credit to the guy who is obviously not a railway enthusiast for eventually tracking down the loco but it was just a pity that he had not contacted anyone with any knowledge of industrial railways as he could have saved himself a great deal of time and effort as I think most people who have any interest in west country industrial railways would have been able to tell him at least which county the engine was in if not its exact location.
Still alls well that ends well and it will be good to see it back in the area.
