Today, at about 14:30, I passed over Langton Court Road bridge high above the end of Bristol East Depot, and saw some engineers LAYING a single track down the middle of the cleared sidings.
The line stretches along the length of the old sidings and looked like itÆs to be joined to the main line (or is it the Up Relief or something) just before the bridge that takes the railway across the river.
WhatÆs going on there then?

I've had a few people send me pics of the work at Bristol East, looks like a lot of work going into the area.
I'm out delivering all day today but will try to get some pics online when I get back.
Thanks to everyone who's been in touch, much appreciated

It's good to see that East Depot is being brought back into good use.
I remember back in the early eighties when I was at Westbury, we had a night job to Bristol. We'd work a part-fitted freight into East Depot down loop, detach the unfitted portion (remembering to change the offside marker lamp on the brakevan from red to white), and then leave the other bit in Kingsland Road sidings, engine to shed. Does anyone remember the bonemeal fertiliser factory thereabouts?. Waiting the road into KR sidings was horrendous: the stench from dead cattle was overpowering and stayed with you for the rest of the turn.
Just thought I'd share that one with you
