I was recently given lots of old family pics, most of which I've never seen. Most of my dads side of the family worked on the railways, heres a few pics. The lowmac pic is with my grandad in the centre, this could be Yatton as he was stationed there. The second is my dad at temple meads goods yard or st philips.
Or it could actually be the docks.

It is Bristol Docks for sure - most probably V, X or Y shed, which were located at the end of Canons Marsh Rd just before the gas works.
Great pics BTW - thanks very much for posting and sharing - would be great to see any more rail related Bristol ones on here

Do you know when your Dad was at TM Goods ? The pictures look to be late 1950's or early 1960's and if it was the latter end of that period he may have known my Dad who was Staff Superintendent there till the end of BR operation , and National Carriers operation till the depot closed.

My dad started at the age of 15 in 1958 and left,I think in 1968. I have a few more pictures but they are of his workmates so for personal reasons Im not sure I should put them on? Not sure how people feel about this.

More great pictures, thanks.
BTM goods looks as if was a really busy place, I don't know that I've seen many pictures of it in the past. It looks as if there were some real characters working there and the small details are fantastic.
It's a shame that it's all consigned to history, but I guess that's progress?!

Looking at the skyline in the pic of Alfie Meek, I would hazard a guess that the location might actually be the freight yard at Clifton Down, now covered by the shopping centre.
Anyone else think so too?

It could be but it looks rather busy for Clifton Down as I remember the yard there and I wondered if it might be St Phillips ?
