Pilning area down towards Severn tunnel was a hive of activity today. Not sure what was happening in all locations but loop behind platforms has been re-layed very recently on steel sleepers and clearing up operations in progress of replaced track and sleepers.
Lot of track workers further down in vicinity of road bridge.
I hear there may have been signalling probs.
Its all part of the newport resignaling scheme Newport panel takes controll from the pilning loop. It will see plenty of trains over the christmas period as the whole project is a massive work site. Take some turkey to the drivers etc if you got some left over and want to escape charades.
