I was wondering what is happening these days in relation to the easternmost island at Temple Meads, that is to say old platforms 1 & 2, which were taken out of passenger use in 1970. I know that what became "new" platform 13 was subsequently used for parcels traffic, although I am sure I saw it in occasional use (possibly ECS) around 1998. I take it that both platforms have been in regular use since the trackwork carried out around 2001 (was this work reported in the Railway Magazine?)

Platforms 13 and 15 (formerly 1 & 2) returned to passenger use on 9 April 2001. Platform 13 is a bay accessed from the East end and Platform 15 is a through platform.
