Slides to pc transfering

Post by nickt »

I recently was given a very large amount of railway slides mostly diesel loco hauled. Some other odds and ends including what appears to be the APT and a very small qty of steam ( too few to mention).
I would like to transfer or have them transfered to dvd. Not having had any dealings with this before I would welcome any sugestions, do I buy a slide scanner or is there somewhere that provides a service.
Also a quantity of photos (same subject matter) may need scanning but have some negs which may be connected.

I can copy slides, negatives and photo's for you and put them on to a CD,don't know why you would want them on a DVD...with them on a CD you can view them on your computer monitor,I also have a DVD burner,so it might be possible to copy from the CD to DVD...I also live in the south of bath, let me know what you think....J.R. Hi chippy.
Thanks for reply. the reason I suggested dvd was just purely because of sheer number of slides, approx 1000 plus. ( I suspect many are similar repeats but even so still a bit of work ).
If you are interested, knowing the magnitude and possible time involved then perhaps we can talk further.
Thanks Nick.
